Postnet Barcode

Postnet has 5, 9 or 11 numeric digits that are used by the United States Postal Service to encode ZIP Code information for automatic mail sorting by zip code.

Data and Options

• The data field contains the digits from the ZIP code.
• Arbitrary dashes may be placed between the digits to format the human readable text without interfering with the encoded data.
• The mandatory checksum is calculated automatically and must not be included in the data field.
